Too many bugs, poor customer supportAug 14, 2010
By Patrick O I use Timeslips 2010 by Sage for my small law firm. Billing entries are fairly simply and intuitive, including setting up customer accounts and entering time and expense information. There are many additional features, but the documentation for how to use those features is pretty poor, although Timeslips provides training for those feature (for an additional fee).
Timeslips claims the product is compatible with Windows 7. In some sense of the word "compatible," it probably is, but there appear to be significant bugs. I had little complaints with Timeslips until I upgraded two of my remote stations to Windows 7. At that point, I began having problems including difficulty loading the software as well as a systematic duplication of time entries. By reviewing bills carefully before sending them to clients I was able to detect the double (and triple!) billing and expense entries and delete them. That process is frustrating and quite time consuming. When I tried to contact Sage, the manufacturer about these obvious bugs, I was required to purchase a support plan or pay by-the-minute to talk to them about the bugs in their software! After purchasing the plan, I found that the hours of operation for customer support are limited (they are generally only available when I am dedicating time to my clients and completely unavailable during the time I dedicate to back-end office functions, like nights and weekends). While the Sage website touts "email support" as one of the benefits of the support subscription, there doesn't actually appear to be an email-support function on the Sage support website.
While many of the ideas built into Timeslips are great features for a time-and-expense billing software system, the poor customer support and lack of quality control will lead me to purchase a different system soon.

Stay away from this softwareMay 13, 2011
By Bad Product I bought time slips for my law firm billing. I regret that very much. It is very difficult and time consuming to use. There is lack of customer service available or they charge you more than the software to help you with isssues. I had to pay a time slips specialist $160 an hour to help me with questions that I have. In this day of technology, a time entry software should not be so difficult and time consuming to use. I have paid so much time in time training much more than I paid for the software itself. At this time, I am looking for a new software to use.
